B-mix clay with white crawl glaze. An allegory for self-contained worlds, environments within environments, valleys in valleys meant to encourage the viewer to think about sedimentation of worlds within worlds and about the distortion of space. Repetitions of form, as well as scale, are meant to reflect an individual's perception of their proximity to their surroundings. The house is in the center, and the mountains recede away from it. As external viewers equally proximate to the valley floor, we see things as equally close. Yet as inhabitants of the house, we would have perceived space and scale as quite literally distorted.
